Art Reproductions
Due to ethical reasons I will only reproduce art for the creating artist or the copy right holder, unless it is to be used in a catalogue for sale by the owner or agent.
Digitising or reproducing art is something I'm very passionate about. When an artist trusts me to reproduce their work I take it extremely serious, there are so many things to consider that if not taken serious can go very wrong, the first three main things to consider are
1- Colour
Matching colours is something that is paramount to reproduction work. An artist spends a lot of time getting their art the way they want it and if the colours are not reproduced accurately it is just an insult to the artist.
2- Texture
Nothing beats the experience of seeing an original piece of art in front of you, so I capture the textures in the piece as well as photograph can so to give the next best experience possible to seeing the original.
3- Perspective
This is the mathematical side of photography, this is where measurements are taken to centre the camera to the artwork and the correct lens is chosen to avoid any distortion.
The next thing is to understand how the artist wants their artwork represented, do they want it as a flat image to be reproduced for prints or do they want to show it as a hanging piece with a natural shadow.
